Happy Birthday to me!

Look what got delivered a la casa yesterday! I'm in love. We've been wanting a freezer for a long time now - ours is always overflowing because I buy meat and stuff in bulk when it goes on sale. And I live off Lean Cuisines at the office - also like to stock up on those when on sale. So yeah, not a ton of freezer space in our standard fridge.

I'm pretty sure asking for a freezer for my birthday shows my age. But I gotta tell ya, it's pretty damn exciting. Thanks, Mom and Dad! OK so my birthday's not for a couple of weeks, but I enjoy stretching it out - in both directions - for as long as possible. I love my birthday.

Freezers are great! We always had a deep freezer when I was growing up, which I thought was embarrassing when I was a kid cause noone else had them, but now I realize how important freezing can be! I freeze as much as my freezer allows now, especially since all the food is shipped to the island on boats so it's goes off faster here and the temp is so high that even with a refrigerator, meat often goes off anyway! Happy Birthday!

Oh I am so jealous! I want one too. My freezer is tiny but I too buy meats and stuff on sale. You can also freeze in season fruits and veggies to eat in winter.

I would love to have an extra freezer. I would love to buy more in bulk, but we just don't have the freezer space right now. Maybe this needs to go on my list!

When my husband came home from his last deployment in '05 he asked what I wanted and I told him three thigns: washer, dryer and one of the smaller deep freezes (you can buy them at Walmart - we moved too much to have a big one). So that's what he got me. *lol*

Every year at tax season we go otu and stock our freezer with about $400+ of meat/veggies, I come home and spend some time breaking it all down in bags. We end up with 6+ months worth of food, and it saves us money instead of having to buy it every payday ontop of everything else.

I'm usually a "pantry stocker" kind of person, but our house here doesn't have one, so I don't have the luxury - but I'm going to convert our coat closet into one. Who needs a coat closet in Florida? *lol*

You'll be surprised how fast it fills up.

I love our "extra" freeze/fridge - especially for prepping for parties. Happy, happy Birthday to YOU!

Last year, my parents got a new frig/freezer for their kitchen, so they gave us their old one. It was only 3 years old, so I was thrilled. We have it in our garage, and it's my most favorite gift ever. I LOVE IT. Enjoy yours... I love unloading our groceries now because so much can be stored right in the garage. It's great for parties too.
